How to Get to Your Playlist on YouTube

Playing YouTube videos on shuffle is great, but sometimes you want to be in control of the music.

That’s when you need a playlist.

You can create and edit playlists from your YouTube homepage or from within the video itself.

And if you want to share a playlist with your friends or family, it’s easy to do that too!

How to find your YouTube playlist

To find your playlist, you can:

  • Click on the “playlist” tab in the top right corner of your screen.
  • Click on the “playlist” icon. This icon looks like two squares side by side and is located in the same area as where you see “likes,” “comments,” and “dislikes.”

How to add a video to your playlist

To add a video, click the plus sign in the top-right corner of your playlists and then hover over the video you want to add.

Click Add To Playlist and select which playlist you’d like to add it to.

You can also choose to Play All if you want all videos from a specific channel or playlist to play back-to-back!

Make sure that your list is public since this will allow viewers on other devices (e.g., television sets) viewing access.

How to edit the order of the videos in your playlist

You can make changes to the order of your playlist by clicking on “Edit” next to the title of your playlist.

Next, you’ll see a list of all the videos that are included in this playlist.

You can drag and drop them into whatever order you want.

You can also move an individual video from one playlist to another by clicking “Edit,” and then select the box next to each video’s name (it will show up as a blue checkmark).

Finally, click “Move” and select which playlist it should belong in instead.

How to remove a video from your playlist

  1. Click the playlist you want to edit.
  2. Select the video you want to remove from your playlist.
  3. Click the trash icon, and then confirm the removal of the video from your playlist.

How to share your playlist with someone else

Sharing your YouTube playlist is a great way to get more people interested in your music.

However, there are several different ways to share your playlists with people:

  • Share it with a friend or group of friends. If you’re just looking for someone to listen to the songs you’ve created, then this is the best option for you! You can share the link directly from YouTube or send it via email or text message.
  • Make it public so everyone can see it.

How to see all of the videos in your playlist

Once you’ve got the playlist open, check out these additional ways to navigate:

  • To see all of the videos in your playlist, click “All” at the top of the page. If you’d like to move through videos chronologically or in reverse-chronological order (from most recent to least recent), click “Up Next.”

How to save a copy of your playlist on Google Drive or Dropbox

You can save a copy of your playlist on Google Drive or Dropbox by following the steps below:

  1. After you’ve created your YouTube playlist, click on the share button.
  2. Click “Copy Link.”
  3. Open up a new document in Word, Notepad, etc., and then paste the link into it (ctrl+v). Be sure to save this file to either Google Drive or Dropbox so that you can access it later!

How to download a copy of your playlist as a .zip file

If you’d like to download a copy of your playlist as a .zip file, here’s how:

  1. Go to YouTube and select the Playlists tab.
  2. Click on your playlist’s name.
  3. A menu will appear with options for managing that playlist. Click Download as Zip File in the bottom right corner of this menu.
  4. You should see another popup asking you to confirm that you want to save a copy of this playlist as an archive file (.zip). The next time you go back into your account and look at this page, there will be an option called Downloaded Playlist available at the bottom of the list when viewing Playlists in YouTube settings. Click it once and then click “Download” again in order for it to stay marked as ‘Saved’ so that it does not disappear after 24 hours!


If you want to share your playlist with other people, it’s important to know how to save it as a .zip file so that everyone has access.

You can also use Google Drive or Dropbox for this purpose.

And if you want something more secure than Dropbox, consider using Google Drive instead because it has more security features than the latter.
