K-POP PLAYLIST

If Your K-Pop Bias Had a Playlist to Represent Them, What Songs Would Be in It?

K-pop groups are known for their fierce and powerful dance routines, but they’re also a lot of fun when they want to be.

Their personalities shine through in the variety shows, live events, and even on social media where they all seem like genuinely good people who enjoy spending time with their fans.

So it got us thinking: What if each member of your favorite K-pop group was given an hour-long playlist to curate?

What songs would they choose to represent them? And why?

BTS

BTS is a Korean boy band that consists of seven members: Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook the leader.

They have released seven albums and are the first K-Pop group to be nominated at the American Music Awards.

The members all take turns in writing lyrics for their songs which makes them unique among other K-pop groups.

Each member has their own style and they usually switch it up depending on who’s leading or singing a song as well as their personality type (e.g., Jimin is more outgoing than Jungkook).

EXO

If your bias had a playlist, what songs would be in it?

Would the playlist be a mix of songs that represent the group’s diverse members?

Would it include songs that represent the group’s music style?

Would it include songs that represent their personalities?

Well, if your bias were EXO, then yes.

Yes, all of those answers would be correct.

The reason is simple: EXO is an incredibly diverse band with many different styles and personalities among its members—they’re like a small country!

This means that any playlist created by one member could never encompass all of EXO’s individualities at once; instead, every member should have his own playlists to showcase his own tastes and personality quirks.

GOT7

If your K-pop bias had a playlist to represent them, what songs would be in it?

GOT7 is a popular boy band from South Korea that has 7 members: JB, Mark, Jackson, Youngjae, BamBam, Yugyeom, and Jinyoung.

Since their debut in 2014, they have released more than 20 albums and won multiple awards.

The group’s name comes from an abbreviation of seven angels (Seven Graceful Boys).

Their debut single “Girls Girls Girls” became one of the most viewed music videos in South Korea’s history.

SHINee

SHINee, a group known for its upbeat songs and upbeat personalities, would have a playlist of upbeat songs.

Their playlist would include all the fun, energetic songs that SHINee has sung throughout their career. These tracks can be found in any one of their albums or mini-albums.

The band members of SHINee are also known to sing some slow ballad tracks on stage or at events such as concerts and award shows.

These slow ballads are usually sung by Jonghyun, who often performs solo when it comes to slower music.

A great example of this is “End of the Day” which he performed during his solo concert earlier this year!

In addition to being an avid English speaker himself, Jonghyun will often sing English versions of Korean songs too!

For example: “Hello” (Korean), “Juliette” (English Version)

Seventeen

Seventeen’s playlist would be a mix of songs that represent the members’ individual personalities.

  • S.Coups: “Fly” by JB, SHINee’s member who is also known for his vocal ability
  • Wonwoo: “Still” by Dean, a powerful ballad about love and regret

NCT 127

Let’s take a look at some of NCT 127’s best songs, and what they represent to the group.

  1. Fire Truck (Happy/Adventurous)
  2. Cherry Bomb (Happy/Nostalgic)
  3. Switch (Nostalgic/Adventurous)
  4. Regular featuring MAMAMOO (Happy/Adventurous)
