Podcasts playlists are a great way to organize and listen to your favorite podcasts.
Whether you’re looking for story ideas or simply want a new way to pass the time, it’s important that your library doesn’t get too cluttered with episodes.
In this post, we’ll show you how to create an iTunes playlist for your podcast so that organizing them is easy!
1. Download and install iTunes.
Go to the Apple website and click on “Free Download” for iTunes 12.9.1 (or whatever is the current version).
Once you have downloaded and installed iTunes, open it up and sign in with your Apple ID/iTunes account information.
2. Sign up for an Apple account if you don’t have one.
To get started, you’ll need an Apple ID. If you already have one, great! If not, here’s how to sign up for one:
- Go to [apple. com](https://appleid.apple.com/) and click Sign In or Create Apple ID at the top right corner of your screen.
- Enter your email address and choose whether or not you want an email address with an @icloud or @me domain (if so, enter that information). You can also choose if you want a 16-character numeric code sent through text message or phone call if this is your first time creating a password—it’s up to you! Just make sure it’s something memorable so that it doesn’t get lost somewhere along the way. This will be used as part of your password when signing into iCloud later on down below (and we’ll also use it when we get ready for uploading our podcast episodes).
3. Sign in to iTunes with your account details.
If you don’t have an Apple ID, click the Create Apple ID button and fill out the required information.
You can sign in with your existing Apple ID or create a new one.
When you are signed in, click Continue.
4. Search for the podcast you want to download.
Search for the podcast you want to download in the iTunes Store.
Click on the podcast name to view its page.
Click on the Subscribe button to start receiving episodes of that podcast.
Click on an episode title to start listening to it!
5. Click the subscribe button to start receiving episodes.
To subscribe to a podcast, you will have to make sure that the feed is correct.
To check this, go to the podcast page and look for an orange button with “Subscribe” written on it.
If you see that button, click it and follow the instructions provided by the site or app (it may be different for each one).
You will usually have to enter your email address or username along with some other information such as your name so they know who’s downloading their content.
If you’ve already subscribed before but want to add more people or devices onto your subscription list then simply go back into settings and select “Subscribe,” which is basically telling iOS what device(s) should receive new episodes when they come out in iTunes Store.”
6. Click an episode title to start listening to it.
Now you are ready to listen!
To start listening:
- Click on an episode title.
- The player will automatically play from the beginning of the episode.
To pause or stop playback:
- Double-click anywhere in the player area to pause playback and bring up a mini-menu for additional controls (like skipping forward or backward).
To skip backward or forward through a podcast:
- Click once on either side of the progress bar at any time during playback to move ahead five seconds back (or after) from where you are currently listening.
7. Go to the podcast page within your library by clicking the Podcasts option in the upper-left corner of iTunes.
- Navigate to My Podcast List and click on Edit, then Copy Files To iTunes Media Folder.
- Select All Unplayed Episodes and click on Choose
8. Click Unsubscribe on a podcast you no longer wish to receive on the Podcasts page.
To unsubscribe from a podcast, click Unsubscribe and then click Confirm.
To subscribe to a podcast, select the Subscribe button next to the title of the desired podcast.
